"I don’t make a habit of changing mouthpieces. In the last 20 years I’ve played on only 2 mouthpieces, so it was going to take something special for me to change.
I’ve been playing the the Randefalk Mouthpiece R2.5 for 8 months now, and I’m sure that will be the start of my next 20 year long term mouthpiece commitment. It felt immediately comfortable and unconstrained across the register and dynamic range. A little narrower in diameter than I’ve played in the past, but this seems to have centered the sound giving a soloistic quality in the middle to high register, whilst the wide back bore allows the lower register to be focused and centered when taking the tubas true role ensemble setting. It goes perfectly with my Geneva Oldroyd Cardinal E flat Tuba. I love it, and I’m sure you will too! JWC"
