Karl-Johan Elf play Randefalk R3 in Goldplate on his B&S F-tuba

I`m so glad that Kalle wanted to try out the new Randefalk mouthpiece for tuba. The choice came down to the model R3.

Karl-Johan Elf has played tuba with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 2010. Prior to that, he played with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2006–2010.

After starting out on the trumpet as a child, he began to play tuba in high school. He then studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Malmö Academy of Music with professor Jens Bjørn-Larsen.

Karl-Johan Elf has participated in Konserthuset’s chamber music subscriptions such as Soup Concerts and the Philharmonic Up-Close on many occasions. In 2013, he was also the soloist in John Williams’ Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
